Installing and Cabling the 100BaseTX Mod-MAC (DLXTX)

Introduction

The 100BaseTX Mod-MAC, illustrated above, is part of the Mod-MAC product family (which also includes the 
10BaseFL and 100BaseFX). It provides connectivity between a DIGITAL MultiSwitch 612EX and network 
devices using 100BaseTX.  It has  a crossover-wired connector (1) and a  straight-through wired connector  (2)
Only one of the connectors can be used at a time. The 100BaseTX Mod-MAC only operates in the DIGITAL 
MultiSwitch 612EX.

Installation Procedure

Before you install a 100BaseTX Mod-MAC, make sure that the module has no power connected to it. The 
100BaseTX Mod-MACs are not hot-swappable. To install the 100BaseTX Mod-MAC, complete the following 
steps. A Phillips-head screwdriver is required.

Remove the dust cap from the module’s modular interface connector.

Hold  the 100BaseTX Mod-MAC by its bezel so that it is parallel with a slot opening on the module.

Insert the 100BaseTX Mod-MAC and align its sides with the guide in the module’s slot opening.

Push the 100BaseTX Mod-MAC into the slot until it is firmly seated inside the module.

Align and securely fasten the two Phillips-head screws on the 100BaseTX Mod-MAC bezel.
