SYSTEM MANUAL Issue 1.0 5 DEC 2009
MIXED RASTER MESSAGE ENTRY
NOTE: Mixed raster printing is a new function available only in
the LX system. This feature allows the operator to combine
larger text followed by a small text size.
The LX 2 system has two modes, a single line and a two-line mode. This allows
for a message to contain (using the default fonts) a 1/2” tall character followed by
2, 3, or 4 lines of text using a 7/32”, 1/8” or 3/32” font size. The second mode is a
two-line mode. This option allows a half height message of one line of 7/32” (or
alternate font
followed by up to 4 lines of a smaller text size.
Remember that the default resident fonts may be replaced by an alternate set of
font sizes or styles.
The prefix, when selected, is automatically inserted at the beginning of the
message and may not be moved to any other part of the message. The prefix is
created in a unique manner that is not in the normal MESSAGE ENTRY mode.
The prefix data may be any legal alpha/numeric text, variable field data such as
date/time, barcodes (LX 2 only) or logo.
NOTE: Only 1 prefix may be resident in a message regardless of
the configuration. When a message is stored, the stored
message will contain all the parameters as well as the prefix.
Each stored message may contain a different prefix that was
created prior to saving the message. Reloading the message
from storage will also contain the appropriate prefix.
The following procedure is shown using an LX preparing a full height prefix
followed by a 2-line code, but remember that there are other combinatorial
depending on the system type LX 1 or LX 2.
