LDAP
Your IX20 device supports LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), a protocol used for directory
information services over an IP network. LDAP can be used with your IX20 device for centralized
authentication and authorization management for users who connect to the device. With LDAP
support, the IX20 device acts as an LDAP client, which sends user credentials and connection
parameters to an LDAP server. The LDAP server then authenticates the LDAP client requests and
sends back a response message to the device.
When you are using LDAP authentication, you can have both local users and LDAP users able to log in
to the device. To use LDAP authentication, you must set up a LDAP server that is accessible by the
IX20 device prior to configuration. The process of setting up a LDAP server varies by the server
environment.
