Digi has pr ov ided XCTU soft war e for pr ogr am m ing t he m odem  using an ex t ensiv e list  of AT 

Com m ands. The XCTU softw are pr ov ides an int er face t hat  is div ided int o four  t abs t hat  facilit at e 

t he follow ing funct ions:  

  PC Set t ings t ab -  Set up PC ser ial por t  to int erface w it h an XSt r eam  RF Modem  

  Range Test  t ab – Test  XSt r eam  RF Modem 's r ange in v ary ing env ir onm ent s 

  Ter m inal t ab – Configure and r ead XSt r eam  RF Modem  par am et er s using AT Com m ands 

  Modem  Configur at ion t ab – Configure and r ead RF Modem  par am et er s

t hr ough t he PC, baud ( ser ial dat a r at e) , dat a bit , par it y  and st op bit  set t ings on t he PC serial por t 

m ust  m at ch t hose of t he RF m odem . The PC Set t ings t ab prov ides a soft w ar e user  int erface t hat  

facilit at es t he m odificat ion of PC ser ial por t set t ings. 

PC Se t u p 

1. 

Set  t he DI P Sw it ch t o RS- 232 m ode. Sw it ch 1 is ON ( up)  and t he r em aining 5 sw it ches are 

OFF ( dow n) . 

2. 

Connect  t he m ale DB- 9 connect or of t he PC w it h t he fem ale DB- 9 connector of t he RF 

m odem  using an RS- 232 cable.

Pow er  t he RF m odem  t hr ough t he power connect or .

Launch XCTU Soft w ar e and select  t he PC Set t ings t ab;  t hen select  par am et er v alues fr om  t he 
dropdow n list s t hat  m at ch t he curr ent  par am et er v alues of the RF m odem .         ( Refer t o 

Table 3.1 on for m or e infor m at ion.)

A t er m inal progr am  has been built  int o t he XCTU softw ar e and is locat ed under  t he Term inal t ab. 

The Ter m inal t ab pr ov ides an easy - t o- use int er face for pr ogr am m ing t he m odem .

 Mult iple AT com m ands can be ent er ed on one line w it h one carriage 

r et ur n at t he end of t he line. Each com m and m ust  be delim it ed by  a com m a ( spaces in bet w een 

ar e opt ional) . The “ AT”  pr efix is only sent  befor e t he fir st  com m and and should not be included 

w it h subsequent  com m ands in a line.

 When a com m and is sent  t o t he m odem , t he m odem  w ill par se and ex ecut e 

t he com m and. Upon successful ex ecut ion of a com m and, the m odem  ret ur ns an “ OK”  m essage. I f 

ex ecut ion of a com m and r esult s in an er ror , t he m odem  r etur ns an “ ERROR”  m essage.
