Vacuum Anchor Method-to-Floor

Turn Machine on its back and in sert Vac uum Seal (Fig . 3) under Machine B ase, inspecting
first to en s ure Seal is in goo d condit i on a nd seali ng g r oove i s c le an .
2 . Turn Drilling Machine up -r i g ht an d loose n 4 Base
Leveling Screws .
3. Plu g Service Cord into a properly gro un ded recep t acle a nd turn Vacuum Pum p ON/OFF
Sw it ch to the ON position.
4 . In sert Vacuum Slot Cap into Anchor Bolt Slot (Fig
2) and check vacuum and hose connections . Vacuum Gauge ( F ig . 2) mu st read a
minimum of
20 inches of mercury .
5 . Th e Dr i ll ing Machine shou ld n ow be vac uu m anchored . I f Machine does not anchor ,
add weight by standing on Vac uum Ba se . It s houl d now a n chor with Vacuum Gaug e reading
20 inches of mer -
cury min1mum . I f not , c h eck the floor a nd Vacuum
Seal (Fig . 3) for leaks .
