Use the following steps to make connections from the reference gas cylinder to GFS-FS
•
Be sure that the GFS-FS pressure regulator is fully backed out.
•
Make sure that reference gas cylinder fill valve is closed.
•
Connect ¼” Swage flex tube to gas pressure supply of no more than 20 MPa (3000 psi)
using Swage to NPTF adaptor or other connections as needed. Do not apply pressure
from supply source at this point.
•
Connect the other end of the ¼” Swage flex tube to the Supply port on GFS-FS
•
Apply pressure from the supply to the GFS-FS. Pressure supplied to GFS-FS supply
port must be no more than 20 MPa (3000 psi).
•
Remove the fill port plug from reference gas cylinder connector.
•
Connect the DH200 fitting of the flex tube to the reference gas cylinder connector fill port
but do not tighten at this time to allow for purging the supply lines in Section 4.3.4.
•
Connect the DH500 fitting of the flex tube to the Reference Cylinder port on GFS-FS.
•
An exhaust connection is available to optionally vent to an exhaust tube in case of
overpressure or while backing the regulator off.
4.3.4
FILLING THE CYLINDER
•
Check
Table 11 in Section 4.1.2 to determine the desired reference gas cylinder fill
pressure for the test gas being used.
•
Rest the reference gas cylinder assembly in its carrying case with the lid of the case
open during filling. This will provide a convenient place for the assembly to set and
allows adequate ventilation of the cylinder during filling. The cylinder will rise in
temperature temporarily as high pressure gas is added to it.
•
To purge the lines with pure gas between the supply cylinder and Reference Cylinder,
turn the GFS-FS regulator clockwise until gas can be heard venting from the reference
gas cylinder fill port DH200 connection that was left loose in Section 4.3.3. Allow a few
moments (~5 seconds) for purging, then tighten the DH200 connection.
