front and the balance electrical connections are in the rear.
Connect the AMH driver cable that is permanently mounted to the GFS sidewall column
to the connector on the right side of the AMH base.
Install the custom balance mass tray into the keyed slot on the balance post. Note that
the mass tray can be placed into the keyed slot in two ways. The correct position for
the mass tray is such that two legs of the tray are left of the center of the balance
(viewed from the front, brass insert with flat recess closest to operator, brass insert with
chamfered recess farthest from operator) and one leg is to the right of center (groove in
brass insert).
Figure 21.

Using a level placed directly across the top of the balance mass tray, adjust the balance
feet so that the mass tray sits level in each direction. If there is a level indication on the
body of the balance, disregard that level in favor of the level placed directly on the mass
tray. When leveling, make sure that the balance legs are not hung up on the balance
positioning bracket and the balance sits freely on the granite surface. Ideally, the
bracket will make little or no contact with the balance legs.
Using a level, do a rough adjustment of the three adjustable feet on the AMH base so
that the sides of the base sit level.
The rough location of the AMH position is 13.3 cm (5¼”) from the sidewall column or
18.2 cm (7¼”) from the right side of the enclosure, and 12.9 cm (5 1/16 in.) from the
back wall of the enclosure. Final adjustments to the AMH and balance position will be
performed later when the AMH plates are installed.

SETUP BALANCE LOCATION
Place the reference gas cylinder on the balance
mass tray so that the quick connector on the
regulator assembly is on the right side. Visually
confirm that the reference gas cylinder assembly
sits vertically. If it does not, adjust the cylinder
position in the cylinder support, or adjust the
balance feet to level the balance mass tray.
Move the balance and AMH base so that the
distance between the quick connect fittings on the
reference gas cylinder assembly and the draft
enclosure sidewall column allows the correct
shape of the catenary gas conveyance loop. The
distance is set by using the loop alignment tool,
A. Loop alignment tool.
