Install the mass hanger legs by
lifting one side of the AMH plate, and
starting with the farthest hole place
the corresponding leg (spherical to
chamfer, flat to flat) through the hole.
Continue this with the other two legs.
Step 2
Place the reference mass down on
the legs with the nominal mass and
serial number facing up. Make sure
the mass sits completely down on
the legs.
Step 3
Secure the reference mass to the legs with the screws provided. If a screw is ever lost or
misplaced, never simply replace the screw: the reference mass will have to be
recalibrated including the original legs and screws and the replacement screw.
When installing or uninstalling the reference mass, always keep careful track of the screws
and mounting legs as these are an integral part of the calibrated reference mass, not only for
mounting but also part of the total mass value. When recalibrating, all of these pieces (mass,
three legs, three screws) must be calibrated as one mass. If a screw is lost or misplaced the
entire assembly needs to be recalibrated with the replacement screw.
When picked up and carefully turned back over the reference mass should hang freely
and evenly below the plate.
