REFERENCE GAS CYLINDER ASSEMBLIES
Reference gas cylinder assemblies are not included with the base GFS2102 system, so the
customer has the option to purchase one or more with their system. Often, a set of two
cylinder assemblies are ordered and delivered with the GFS system, one of the smaller 1.1
liter cylinder assemblies with 690 kPa (100 psi) output and one of the larger 1.5 liter cylinder
assemblies with 550 kPa (80 psi) output to cover requirements for a variety of gases. For
customers who expect a high rate of usage, two sets of cylinders are recommended so that
for whatever size of cylinder is in use a second identical cylinder can be filled and prepared
for use once the first is depleted. Each reference cylinder assembly is shipped in a black,
molded plastic case in a corrugated liner. During shipment, the plastic case holds the
disassembled cylinder unit and regulator assembly in place using a custom plastic and foam
liner. Also packed inside the plastic case is a catenary gas conveyance loop that is held in a
foam cutout in the case lid.
To unpack
: Remove the plastic molded case from the corrugated liner. Open the case and
inspect the reference gas cylinder, regulator assembly, and catenary gas conveyance loop.
Both can be stored inside the case when not in use. When removed from the case, the
cylinder assembly can be placed on a level surface resting on the cylinder support legs.
Make sure the reference gas cylinder support is attached on the cylinder straight, so that the
cylinder stands vertically. Follow the instructions in Section 3.3.7 for assembling the
regulators with the reference gas cylinder.
Follow the instructions in Section 6.4 to disassemble the Reference Gas Cylinder for
shipment.
Table 8 details all items included with each option of the Reference Gas Cylinder.
