6.1
SUMMARY
GFS2102 was designed for very low maintenance operation. However, certain regular maintenance
functions are required to assure reliability and the best performance over time. These are summarized in
Table 65, including cross-references to sections of this manual detailing each procedure.

Lubricate the AMH
plate positioning posts
Remove the cylinder, cylinder plate, and
reference mass plate from the AMH, clean
& lubricate the posts, reinstall the plates.
Every 6 months or if the AMH
plates appear to be binding on
the posts.

Cylinder
Check or adjust
Reference Gas Cylinder
Alignment
Ensure the cylinder is properly upright
and aligned in its carrier for ease of use
and maximum interchangeability of
multiple cylinders.
Monthly or on indication of
misalignment.

Disassemble to
Reference Gas Cylinder
for shipment or storage.
Drain and vent the cylinder before
removing the Regulator Assembly to
prepare the cylinder for shipment or long
term storage.
Whenever the cylinder is to be
shipped for alignment or
testing, or placed in long term
storage.

Have the cylinder
hydrostatically tested
Depending on location, send the cylinder to
a DOT or EU approved testing facility for
hydrostatic testing.
Every 5 years from the
manufacture date on the
cylinder, up to 15 years of use.

Removing or replacing
the cylinder in the
carrier
If the cylinder is removed from the carrier
either by accident or on purpose it must be
correctly replaced in the carrier for proper
use.
Removed before and replaced
after every hydrostatic test or
replaced after every accidental
removal.

Check/Change fluid in
heat exchanger
Weigh or open the heat exchanger to
check the fluid level. Add or replaced the
fluid.
Yearly or if fluid level is
suspect.

AMH-GFS2102 PLATE POSITIONING POSTS
LUBRICATION
The plate positioning posts should be lubricated periodically with Krytox grease to maintain
good working order of the AMH. If unusual noise is heard during operation of the AMH or it is
observed that either of the plates are binding on the positioning posts it is recommended to
immediately stop operations and lubricate the posts. A small tube of Krytox grease is
delivered with each GFS system.
Remove the Reference Gas Cylinder from the AMH.
Operate the AMH to lower the Reference Mass plate. This will raise the Reference
Cylinder plate to its highest point. Carefully remove the Reference Cylinder plate from
