FEATURE
DESCRIPTION
Control Timeout
(numeric entry field)
Defines the amount of time in seconds before a timeout will occur if a
Ready
condition has
not been achieved in response to a set command to an automated controller. If the
controller is unable to set the test target and achieve a
Ready
condition within the time-out
period, a
<t>
is logged in the
<Status>
column of the data run time test log and in the
Data File and test execution proceeds to the dwell step for that point. The control time-out
assures that a test will not hang up indefinitely waiting to achieve a
Ready
condition at a
test point, however data taken after a control time-out is likely to be invalid. Set the control
timeout to a value greater than the worst-case flow setting time of the controller. If flow
control is
<Manual>
the control timeout is ignored.
Regulate
(list box selection)
This feature is used to specify to what device’s reading the target should be adjusted when
an automated controller is used in the test. The
<Regulate>
feature is ignored when the
controller is manual.. The choices are:
None
GFS Tools
calculates and sends the command for the target output to the
controller and makes no further adjustments. In this case, how close the final
value of a point is to the target value depends on the calibration of the
controlling device.
To DUT1
At each point in the test,
GFS Tools
continuously readjusts the set point
command to the controller to adjust the output to the target value as indicated
by the first DUT.
To DUT2
At each point in the test,
GFS Tools
continuously readjusts the set point
command to the controller to adjust the output to the target value as indicated
by the second DUT. When only 1 DUT is tested, regulation defaults to
DUT1
when
DUT2
is selected.
The regulation delay entry determines the time, in seconds, between regulation
adjustment cycles. This is how often the set point is readjusted to get closer to the target
value. Setting this value to a time value that is too short relative to the response time of
the system results in unstable control.
Dwell
(required entry field
and drop down list
selection)
Dwell is a pause that occurs following setting and prior to taking averaged test data at
each point. When
<Dwell>
is set to
<Timed>
,
GFS Tools
dwells at each test point for the
specified
<Dwell Time>
, 0 – 9999s. When
<Dwell>
is set to
<Manual>
,
GFS Tools
dwells at each test point until
[OK]
is clicked on the
<Continue Test>
pop-up. This
feature can be used to synchronize readings or to pause operation when setting a test
point.
Enter a Dwell time of 0s to effectively skip the test dwell.

[DATA]
The
[Data]
tab is used to determine accumulation sampling, the number of
accumulations and how data is logged to the data file. The display on the
[Data]
tab changes depending on the actively selected test flow point. Each flow point
has a unique set of
[Data]
tab selections.
The frame surrounding the [Data] tab includes the flow point that the [Data]
tab currently represents. Click a different flow point to view [Data] tab selections
specific to a new point.
