13. Updating software
The software running on the IOLITE LX consists of two parts:

System image
-
Firmware
Each is updated in a different way.
13.1. Updating system image
The system image is provided in a format of a system image (.img). The following is needed for updating
the system image:

Computer with SD card slot

SD card of at least 8 GB

System image file (.img)
The process consists of preparing the SD card using the system image file and balenaEtcher and of
updating the system image using the SD card.
13.1.1. Preparing the SD card
To prepare the SD card, follow these steps:
1.
Insert the SD card into the computer.
2. Start balenaEtcher.
3. Click on “Flash from file”:
