Script and configuration
7.1
Overview
The script stored in the UNIGATE
®
FC, as well as the configuration, can be replaced or updated
via the serial interface (application) in the configuration mode.
7.2
The configuration mode
If the pin „ConfigMode“ is pulled to GND during the PowerUp or Reset, then the UNIGATE
®
FC
starts in the configuration mode. In this mode it is possible to communicate with the FC without
processing the regular software. In this mode it is possible to change the UNIGATE
®
FC’s set-
tings of the standard software or to write a new script in the UNIGATE
®
FC. It shows its start in
the configuration mode by issuing a status message (it may take up to 1 minute), which might
look as follows:

Update the script

The preferred version is the one, where the FC is inserted into the basis board, available from
Deutschmann Automation and the Deutschmann tools (e. g. software WINGATE with “
Write
Script
“ under “
File
“) are used.

On request the procedures, how to overwrite the included script can be disclosed by
Deutschmann Automation in order to automatically replace the script in an application.

It is also possible to change the Script via FTP (see chapter 9.1 ’Script-update via FTP’).
Note:
After a change (download of a new configuration or a new Script) it takes
up to one minute until the FC has saved this change and will be ready for
operation.

FC is delivered with an empty script.
The configuration of the UNIGATE
®
FC - PROFINET is restricted to the setting of the Ethernet-
address.
