Appendix A3: Manual Rinsing Procedure
The valve is in the seawater position for use in desalination/watermaking mode.
The valve is in the closed position in order to change the filter cartridge (see
Appendix 4) or to isolate the water circuit.
The valve is in the fresh water position for manually rinsing the circuit with fresh
water or for sterilization (see below).
Your DESSALATOR® system is equipped with an automated rinsing feature,
below is the procedure to follow if you would like to manual rinse it.
Normal position, seawater:
For manual rinsing, tilt the handle of the 3-way valve upwards to the fresh water position (see
below), let the circuit rinse for about one minute then reposition the valve downwards to the
seawater position (see above).
Manual rinsing position, fresh water:
Manual rinsing and sterilization:
Switch valve handle to the fresh water position.
Normal position for the use of seawater:
The valve handle is in the seawater position.
