2.1 Use within specifications
1
Caution!
The
Multimat2 Touch
was exclusively designed for firing and/or pressing of dental ceramics and is for these uses
exclusively. The user is liable for all damages resulting from non-specified use. At temperatures above 1000 °C the working life of
the heating muffle and the compression cylinder and the compression valve is reduced. In this case, the aforementioned parts are
excluded from warranty. Such use within specification furthermore includes the compliance with all notes in this operating manual as well as all
notes in the separate operating manuals of the vacuum pump, the

S
ystem and the Touch+Save PC documentation.
Repairs and maintenance may only be carried out by Dentsply Service or by Dentsply authorized service points.
Operate the touch screen only within the designated sensi tive surface.
Never use hard or sharp objects to operate the touch screen.
Use the compression platform only for pressing.
2.2 Hazards and safety notes
1
Caution!
In order to ensure safe operation, please observe the following notes:
• Do not set up furnace and vacuum pump next to heat sources.
•
The power consumption of the vacuum pump must not exceed 2.5 A. The powers of muffle and pump add up and can cause
overload to the unit fuses.
•
The distance to the next wall must be at least 25 cm.
•
The surface must be non-flammable, and there must be no flammable objects nearby.
•
Place the vacuum pump in a well ventilated place. Vacuum pumps lubricated with oil must always be set up in a lower place than the
furnace. The back-pressure valve in the tube, however, must be placed higher than the pump.
•
Do not touch parts that become hot, particularly the cover.
•
Prior to powering up, ensure that the mains power does not exceed the voltage specified on the unit.
•
For 220/230V, use the grounded power lead H05VV-F 3G1,0 with grounded power socket and Schuko-type (grounded)
plug St.30 D.
•
For voltages 100 – 127 V, use the power lead SJT 3x18AWG 105 °C (221 °F) with UL plug NEMA 5-15P and grounded socket.
•
Furnaces with pressing function must always have connection to compressed air, even during normal vacuum firing. Always
maintain the air pressure of 2.7 bar shown on the warning label next to the compressed air inlet.
•
On first-time operation, after any extended rest period as well as at high humidity or low temperatures, it may no longer be possible to
generate a sufficient vacuum. In these cases, start program 376.
•
If the furnace is under vacuum in “Off” state for an extended period of time, the O-ring of the lift plate may adhere slightly.
•
When heating the firing muffle, there may be vibration noises from the heater winding.
•
In case of undervoltage, the temperature increase may be delayed.
•
Use only original service parts.
3
Warning!
•The unit may only be connected to a separate Schuko-type socket which is secured with a slow 16 A fuse.
For increased safety, we recommend connecting the unit to a circuit with separate protective circuit breaker
with a release current of 30 mA.
•
Always disconnect the unit from main power when carrying out repairs and maintenance work.
•
Never connect the unit to extension cables or distribution boxes, as there is fire hazard with these devices.
•
Repairs on opened unit under voltage may only be carried out by trained electricians.
•
At least once per year, a specialist must test the protective ground wire.
•
In the case of faults or damages that prevent safe operation, the unit must be secured against unintentional use.
•
Do not change the position of the belt tension screw located on the rear column plate.
