8.1

Device information

8.1.1

Displaying serial number and firmware

To obtain information about a sensor and USB interface, please perform
the following steps:

ü

Verify that the USB Interface and the sensor are connected to the
PC workstation.

In Sidexis 4 click on 

"Settings" > "Exposure" > "Devices"2.

2.

At the 

Configuration button, select the device you wish information

about.

Ä

Serial number information of the sensor and firmware information of
the sensor and USB interface are displayed.

8.1.2

Updating USB interface

When new firmware is available, it is typically provided with a software
release and becomes part of the update to your existing system. When
an update button for the USB Interface is displayed in Sidexis 4, we
recommend that you perform the update, following the procedure below.

To update the USB Interface, please perform the following steps:

Verify that the USB Interface and the sensor are connected to the
PC workstation.

In Sidexis 4 click on 

"Settings" > "Exposure" > "Devices"-2.

2.

Select the configuration button for the USB Interface to be
upgraded.

If only the USB Interface is connected, the words 

"AE USB

Sensor Interface" will appear instead of the sensor name. If the
sensor is connected also, select the sensor connected to the
USB Interface to be upgraded.

3.

If the firmware for the USB Interface is up-to-date, no further action
is needed. If the 

"Update AE Sensor USB Interface" button is

displayed, perform a firmware upgrade by continuing with the
following steps.

Click on the 

"Update AE Sensor USB Interface" button.

Ä

A short message will appear as a reminder to keep all hardware
connected during the update.

Ä

When the update is complete, another short message will
appear to confirm a successful upgrade.

5.

Click 

"OK" to close the message.

Ä

USB update is complete and the firmware version displayed.

8.1.3

Updating sensor

When new firmware is available, it is typically provided with a software
release and becomes part of the update to your existing system. In the
event an update button for the sensor is displayed, we recommend that
you perform the update, referring to the procedure below.

To update the sensor, please perform the following steps:
