Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)/Troubleshooting

Situation in Question

Solution

The main unit LED does not light even when the vehicle

power is turned on. Or, the power does not turn on.

There is a possibility that power is not being supplied. For details, consult the dealer from

which the product was purchased.

One long beep and two short beeps

sound when the power is turned on.

When the vehicle battery is disconnected, the clock setting of the main unit is initialized

and the clock becomes unset. Use the DN-DSM manager to save the clock setting file on

the SD memory card and set the time.

The main unit restarts repeatedly.

(Notification sound (two long beeps) and main unit

LED flashing (0.25-second intervals) may also occur)

Update the software to the latest version. If the problem persists even after updating the

software, consult the dealer from which the product was purchased.

Face is not detected and the alarm does not

sound. (When the camera LED is not lit)

Detection may not be possible due to the usage environment.

If detection continues to not operate, consult the dealer from which the product was purchased.

Face is detected but the alarm does not

sound.

(When the camera LED is lit)

The volume may be set to mute. Change the volume setting.

In some cases, the alarm may not sound even when the face is detected correctly because the

alarm has been disabled in the operation settings or the detection occurs during the interval time

after another alarm. Check the operation settings with the DN-DSM manager.

The alarm sounds excessively.

The alarm may sound when facial movement are detected when turning the vehicle left or right or

when parking. Change the operation settings with the DN-DSM manager. If the problem persists, the

product may not be installed correctly. Consult the dealer from which the product was purchased.

The Driver Status Monitor demonstrates a clear

abnormality that is judged will impair driving

such as the sounding of an alarm continuously.

Remove the vehicle connector from the main unit. (pg. 7)

This stops the supply of power to the product. Then, consult the dealer from which the

product was purchased.

I want to turn off the alarms or notifica-

tion sounds.

Set the volume to mute with the volume switch. The setting can also be changed with the DN-DSM manager.

If an abnormality occurs or voice notification such as for a setting operation is necessary, voice notification or a

notification sound may sound even when the volume is set to mute.

When the volume is set to mute with the volume switch, volume 1 is set the next time the product starts.

I cannot hear the notification sound because the volume is low.

I want to increase the volume.

The volume can be changed by operating the volume switch. (pg. 14)

The alarm sounds repeatedly during

abnormal operation related to the SD

memory card, and the main unit LED

and camera LED flash repeatedly.

Check that the following conditions are met.

•

The SD memory card is inserted.

•

Write protection of the SD memory is released.

•

The upper limit of the SD memory card's capacity has not been exceeded.

If the problem persists even after correctly inserting the SD memory card and restarting,

consult the dealer from which the product was purchased.

Data cannot be recorded onto the SD

memory card.

The memory card may not be functioning normally due to the following reasons:

•  The SD memory card is not inserted correctly.

In this case, correctly insert the card. (pg. 12)

•  There is an error on the SD memory card.

In this case, use another SD memory card that is functioning normally.

•   The SD memory card being used is not the one that was included with this product.

If this is the case, understand that separately sold SD memory cards are not guaranteed to work.

Use the included SD memory card, or try another separately sold SD memory card. (Pg. 6)

•   The SD memory card is write protected.

In this case, slide the write protector to disable write protection, and try inserting it again.

When the main unit is dirty, wipe off the dirt with a dry silicone cloth or other soft cloth.
When the camera lens is dirty, wipe off the dirt gently with a soft cloth moistened with water.

If an abnormality is found in the product, check for a solution in "Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)/Trouble-
shooting".
If the abnormality persists or no solution is found, contact the dealer from which the product was purchased.

Maintenance

Wiping the camera lens with a hard cloth or a volatile solvent such as thinner or alcohol, or wiping strongly

with a dry cloth, may damage or break the lens, or cause deformation or deterioration.
