DEMA MODEL 163CH HIGH CAPACITY PROPORTIONER

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

PARTS

1 pc. Proportioner assembly
1 pc. Supply tubing with foot valve, and ceramic weight
1 pc. Outlet tubing (3 ft. long)
2 pc. Metering Tip (61-9)

INSTALLATION

Screw proportioner onto garden hose outlet or faucet.  Attach open end of tubing with foot valve to proportioner inlet barb.  (Tubing
may be cut to any convenient length.  Soften end in hot water for easy attachment).  Attach the 3 ft. length of tubing to the proportioner
outlet.  This tubing must remain attached or proportioner will not draw.  Drop foot valve and tubing into chemical container and use
protector disc to hold in place.

OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT

WARNING: USE CARE WHEN HANDLING HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS.

Turn on water.  Chemical siphoning will begin as soon as the outlet tubing fills with water.  A metering tip is used to provide the
desired feed rate.  Tips are identified  by color.  Proportions for various viscosities  are listed on the  Metering Tip Chart  (page 2).

SERVICING

CAUTION:   TURN OFF WATER SUPPLY BEFORE SERVICING.

A.  Failure to inject chemical.

1.  Low water pressure.  At least 10 psi. is required.
2.  Discharge tubing missing or not filling.  Bend end or immerse in pail.
3.  Detergent passage clogged.  Remove proportioner and soak in hot water to clean internal passages.
4.  Foot valve clogged.  Clean.

B.  Injection continues after water is turned off.

Discharge tubing is below drum level.  Raise outlet tubing to stop siphoning or re-arrange installation such that drum is below
outlet tubing.

CAUTION:   WHEN SERVICING UNIT BE SURE THAT REPLACEMENT PARTS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED

ACCORDING TO DRAWING.

RETURNS:

NO MERCHANDISE MAY BE RETURNED FOR CREDIT WITHOUT DEMA’S WRITTEN
PERMISSION.  RETURN MERCHANDISE AUTHORIZATION NUMBER REQUIRED IN
ADVANCE OF RETURN.

WARRANTY:

DEMA products are warranted against defective material and workmanship under normal use and service
for one year from the date of manufacture.  This limited warranty does not apply to any products which
have a normal life shorter than one year or failure and damage caused by chemicals, corrosion, improper
voltage supply, physical abuse, or misapplication.  Rubber and synthetic rubber parts such as “o”- rings,
diaphragms, squeeze tubing and gaskets are considered expendable and are not covered under warranty.
This warranty is extended only to the original buyer of DEMA products.  If products are altered or
repaired without prior approval of DEMA, this warranty will be void.

Defective units or parts should be returned to the factory with transportation prepaid.  If inspection
shows them to be defective, they will be repaired or replaced without charge, F.O.B. factory.  DEMA
assumes no liability for damages.  Return merchandise authorization number, to return units for repair or
replacement, must be granted in advance of return.
