Default Configuration
By default, LSAs are flooded on all interfaces in a routed VLAN.

This command is only applicable to OSPFv2 routing configurations.
ip ospf dead-interval
Use the
ip ospf dead-interval
command in Interface Configuration to set the
OSPF dead interval for the specified interface. Use the no form of the
command to return the interval to the default value.
Syntax
ip ospf dead-interval
seconds
no ip ospf dead-interval
• seconds — Number of seconds that a router's Hello packets have not been
seen before its neighbor routers declare that the router is down. (Range: 1–
65535)
Default Configuration
40 is the default number of seconds.

User Guidelines
The value for the length of time must be the same for all routers attached to a
common network. This value should be some multiple of the Hello Interval
(i.e., 4).

The following example sets the dead interval at 30 seconds.
