Steps
1. Remove the single (M2x4) screw that secures the fingerprint reader metal bracket.
NOTE:
Systems with non-fingerprint reader configuration do not have a fingerprint reader bracket.
2. Remove the fingerprint metal bracket from the system and flip the fingerprint sensor over.
3. Remove the three (M2x5) screws securing the Type-C bracket.
4. Remove the conductive tape covering the eDP cable.
5. Lift the latch and disconnect the display eDP cable its connector on the system board.
6. Remove the single (M2x4) screw that secures the display cable bracket to the system board to release the display cable.
7. Disconnect the display cable from the connector on the system board.
8. Disconnect the speaker cable from the connector on the system board.
9. Disconnect the USH cable from its connectors on the system board.
10. Disconnect the LED cable from its connectors on the system board.
11. Disconnect the clickpad cable from its connectors on the system board.
12. Remove the two (M2x3) screws, two (M2x2.5) screws, and single (M2x4) screw that secures the system board to the
palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
13. Lift the system board off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Installing the system board
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
NOTE:
When replacing/accessing other parts, the system board can be installed with the heat sink attached in order to
simplify the procedure and preserve the thermal bond between the system board and heat-sink.
