If you configure both the
ip domain-name
and
ip domain-list
commands, the
software tries to resolve the name using the
ip domain-name
command. If the name
is not resolved, the software goes through the list of names configured with the
ip
domain-list
command to find a match.
To enable dynamic resolution of hosts, use the following steps:
• specify a domain name server with the
ip name-server
command
• enable DNS with the
ip domain-lookup
command
To view current bindings, use the
show hosts
command. To view a DNS-related
configuration, use the
show running-config resolve
command.
