E-Series legacy
command
Usage Information This command is found on the 10/100/1000/10000 Base-T Ethernet interfaces.
When you enable
auto
, the system performs an automatic discovery to determine the
optics installed and configure the appropriate speed.
When you configure a speed for the 10/100/1000/10000 interface, confirm the
negotiation auto command setting. Both sides of the link must have auto-negotiation
either enabled or disabled. For speed settings of 1000 or auto, the software sets the link
to auto-negotiation and you cannot change that setting.
NOTE:
Starting with Dell Networking OS version 7.8.1.0, when you use a copper
SFP2 module with catalog number GP-SFP2-1T in the S25P model of the S-
Series, you can manually set its speed with the
speed
command. When you set
the speed to
10
or
100 Mbps
, you can also use the
duplex
command.
If you use an active optical cable (AOC), you can convert the QSFP+ port to a 10
Gigabit SFP+ port or 1 Gigabit SFP port. You can use the
speed
command to enable
the required speed.
