Installing the hard drive
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the hard drive and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
1. Place the hard drive on the hard-drive bracket.
2. Align the screw holes on the hard-drive bracket with the screw holes on the hard drive.
3. Replace the four screws (M3x3) that secure the hard-drive bracket to the hard drive.
4. Connect the interposer to the hard-drive assembly.
5. Align the screw holes on the hard-drive assembly with the screw holes on the palm-rest assembly.
6. Replace the four screws (M2x3) that secure the hard-drive assembly to the palm-rest assembly.
7. Route the hard-drive cable through the routing guides on the computer base.
8. Connect the hard-drive cable to the system board.
