Enabling FC interfaces
Enable FC interfaces on the Cisco MDS switch.
About this task
IPv4 addresses are supported on Vblock Systems and VxBlock Systems. IPv6 addresses are supported
on VxBlock Systems.
Before you begin
•
Verify that the Cisco MDS switch is up and reachable through the console or management
connection.
•
Obtain the FC interfaces IDs.
•
Obtain Cisco MDS Switch IPv4/IPv6 address/console information, log on credentials and access
method (SSH/TELNET)
Procedure

Log on to the Cisco MDS switch.

To start the configuration, type:
switch-A#
config terminal

To configure the interface, type:
switch-A(config)#
interface fc interface_id

To apply for a license, type:
switch-A(config-if)#
port-license acquire

To enable the interface, type:
switch-A(config-if)#
no shutdown

To verify that the interface is up, type:
show interface fc interface_id
