Operating the sorter
INTRODUCTION
The Sorter Control utilizes a CURRENCY
Screen to allow input of currency amounts into
the Batch Total. This can be done manually or
by connecting a Currency Counter to the appro-
priate connector at the rear of the Sorter. Opera-
tion using both the manual and currency input
modes are discussed in this section.
CABLE SELECTION / PORT
SETTINGS
To insure proper data transfer, the proper cable
must be used, and the correct port setting must
be selected. Refer to the following chart for
compatibility. Port programming procedures are
discussed in the Programming Section later in
this Guide.
Note:
For Model 8643 only: the Counter is
shipped in the RS232 mode as standard. If
not, refer to the Model 8643 User Guide to
be certain the plug on the Printed Circuit
Board is in the left--most position. Hold down
the “REMOTE” Key and power--up. The Dis-
play should read “3000” or “3100”. Turn off
the Counter. Hold down “BATCH” Key and
power--up. Cycle “REMOTE” Key until
“RS232” is displayed. Press “STOP” Key.
Unit is now in RS232 mode.
