18.1 Connections
18.1.1 Unable to see any controllers
Problem
PICUS cannot see any controllers listed on the
Connect
page.
Possible cause(s)
1. Ethernet cable is not connected between PICUS and controller(s).
2. Possible damage to Ethernet cable(s).
3. Bonjour is not installed.
4. Bonjour is not running.
Checks and
recovery
CAUTION
PICUS requires
Bonjour
to be installed and running for detection of the controller(s).
1. Check the Ethernet cable is connected.
• Check the cabling is securely plugged in to all necessary Ethernet ports.
• It is recommended to directly connect your computer to one of the controllers.
◦ Connection via a network or USB network adaptor may cause loss of communication or poor
communication performance.
2. Check the Ethernet cable for any damage.
• Check the cabling has not been accidentally damaged.
◦ Replace any damaged cables.
3. Check
Bonjour
is installed.
• Open the
Windows Control panel
.
• View installed
Programs and features
.
◦ If
Bonjour
is not installed, please visit the www.apple.com support page to download and
install.
4. Check
Bonjour
is running.
• Open the
Task manager
.
• Under
Services
check
Bonjour
is
Running
.
◦ If it is not running, right click on
Bonjour
and select
Start service
.
