DANGER!
Before closing the breaker for the first time, you MUST complete all the previous commissioning steps. It is
especially important to check and test all the wiring, as well as check the controller configuration.
Here are two ways to test the breaker trip:
Digital input breaker trip example
Configure an alarm on one of the digital inputs, with the action
Trip generator breaker
.
If the trigger level is
High
and the alarm is
Enabled
, the breaker should trip when the digital input is activated.
Change the Over-current 2 set point example
Change the set point for
Over-current 2
from 110 % of nominal current to 50 %.
If the current through the breaker is more than 50 % of the nominal current, the breaker should trip after the delay
time. Remember to change the set point back after the test.
If the breaker does not trip as expected, re-check the wiring and the controller configuration.
4.3.4 Synchronise and close function
DANGER!
You MUST complete all the previous commissioning steps.
Test the
Activate breaker close
input. The display unit should show the info message:
Sync. and close activated
. If the
generator and busbar are synchronised, the controller should close the breaker. If they are not synchronised within the
allowed time, the controller should activate the
Breaker closing failure
alarm.
Test the
Deactivate breaker close
input. The display unit should show the info message:
Sync. and close deactivated
.
See
Controller
,
Synchronise and close breaker
in the
Designer's handbook
for information on the inputs,
parameters and sequence.
Troubleshooting
If the breaker does not close:
• If a
Sync. check OK
digital output is configured, check that the
Configure > Parameters > Synchronisation > Settings >
Type > Sync. behaviour
parameter is
Synchronise and close breaker
.
• Use the
Sync. check OK
relay to check whether the system that regulates the generator and busbar (for example, a PLC)
can keep them in the synchronisation window for long enough.
• Check that the
Phase window
is not too small, and that the
Minimum time in phase window
is not too long.
