Chapter 21. DM4000 GPC-OAB

21.1. Overview

DM4000 GPC-OAB is an active booster amplifier based on erbium doped fiber (EDF). The module am-
plifies optical signals, allowing extension of optical loop up to 10 Gbit/s.

Booster’s output power can be configured through terminal, management system or locally.

It can be managed by host equipment or directly. If the configuration jumper is on "AUTO" position, front
serial interface is disabled and the configuration is executed by equipment. If the jumper is on "FORCED"
position, the panel serial interface allows amplifier module’s direct local configuration.
