Connecting to a Self-Powered USB Hub
Self-powered USB hubs are USB hubs that are powered by their own
external power supply. You can connect multiple USB hubs to a USB
port on the host computer. Each of these hubs supports multiple
DT9835 function modules.
Note:
Belken hubs are known to work properly with the DT9835
modules.
To connect a DT9835 function module to a self-powered USB hub,
perform the following steps:
1.
Attach one end of the EP310 cable to the DT9835 module and the
other end of the EP310 cable to a self-powered USB hub.
2.
Connect the power supply for the self-powered USB hub to an
external power supply.
3.
Connect the hub to the USB port on the host computer using
another EP310 cable.
The operating system automatically detects the USB device.
4.
If the DT9800 Series Device Driver has not been installed, the
New Hardware Found wizard appears. Click Next to have the
wizard search for the DT9800 Series Device Driver. Proceed to
step 5.
5.
Click Search for the best driver for your device, then click Next.
6.
Click CD-ROM drive, then click Next.
7.
Click Next to confirm the location of the device driver.
Windows displays an error message stating that the driver cannot be
found. This is OK.
8.
Enter D:\DT9835 Drivers as the path from which to copy files,
where D: is the letter of your CD-ROM drive, then click OK.
