GENERAL DESCRIPTION

T

he 41075 is a mounting formed of aluminum alloy sheet

metal containing one 56-pin dual-readout card edge connec-

tor for each of the 12 or 14 module mounting slots.
ESD jacks are provided to make the shelf safe for electronic

components that are sensitive to static electricity. For ESD

safety, personnel working with equipment in the shelf should

ground themselves to an ESD jack. The jacks are connected

through a shelf mounting bracket to the equipment rack frame

rail.
Two optional rack mounting brackets and hardware are included

for adapting a 19-inch equipment to a 23-inch equipment shelf.
The 41075 module slots normally are pre-wired for a specific

application. If the shelf is pre-wired, a Block Diagram comes

with the shelf that shows how it is wired.
There are two identical Equipment Type labels which describe

the equipment assembly, its part number, revisions, and the job

number. They are located in the outside of the left panel of the

shelf. One label is placed in front of the mounting ear and the

other label is placed in back of the mounting ear. A serial num-

ber currently is not assigned to a shelf.

INSTALLATION

T

he 41075 mounting is shown mechanically in Fig. 1. Tools

required for installation include a Phillips screwdriver and a

3/8” hex nut driver.

:

This practice now documents the

41077 as well as the 41075. The

only differences are that:

•

The 41077 is only available in

19-inch, 12-position configuration.

•

The mounting ears on the 41077

are even with the front of the shelf

rather than halfway back.
