Compressor Control Module (CCM)
Pulse Width Module (PWM)
Overview of the VTT Compressor
Compressor Control
Module (CCM) Board
Pulse Width Modulator
Amplifier (PWM)
The CCM board provides circuitry with the
following functionalities:
• Compressor monitoring and control
• Communication with the drive module and
CIM board
• Bearing monitoring and Control
• Motor cooling Electronic Expansion Valves (EEV)
(EEV_MOT)
• IntraFlow
TM
control (IFV)
• Interlock (Not to be used as a Safety)
• Sensors monitoring
The PWM Amplifier supplies current to the axial
and radial magnetic bearing actuators. The PWM
consists of high-voltage switches that are turned
on and off at a high frequency as commanded by
the PWM signal from the Controller board.
The CCM holds the computational power needed to
operate the entire compressor electronics. It has all
of the bearing and compressor functional logic
to provide the bearing PWM output. The electrically
erasable programmable read-only memory
(EEPROM) holds the parameter settings for the
particular compressor modules. The flash memory
holds the firmware and data storage for the logs.
