Can I leave my air conditioner in place
through the winter?
No, do not leave the air conditioner in the window
during the winter.
What is the electrical rating?
This information can be found on the rating plate
located on the side of the unit.
Can I use an extension cord?
No, an extension cord may not be used.
Is there supposed to be Styrofoam in the
unit?
The Styrofoam that is inside the unit acts as
insulation. Do not remove it. Only remove loose
packaging.
Why do I hear water in the unit?
Water is collected during the air conditioning
process and will drain out of the unit and onto the
ground. This why the unit should be installed on a
slight downward tilt towards the outside.
Why is there frost building up in the unit?
When outdoor temperatures are below 18.3°C
(65°F) frost may form when the air conditioner is in
cooling mode. Switch the air conditioner to fan only
mode until the frost melts.
Air conditioner will not operate
• Plug is not fully inserted into the wall outlet.
• Blown fuse or circuit breaker.
Insuffi cient cooling
• Air
fi lter is dirty.
• Blocked air fl ow.
• Appliance size is too small for application.
Noise
• Inadequate support in window installation;
double check that all screws are tight and the
installation is secure.
• The air fi lter is dirty or blocked.
• Gurgling sounds are normal, this is coolant
moving inside the appliance.
Water dripping inside
• Appliance is not properly angled to allow water
to drain to the outside
Water dripping outside
• On very hot or humid days dripping water from
the back of the appliance is normal
Odors
• Usually caused by the formation of mold or
mildew on internal wet surfaces.
• Ensure the fi lter is clean.
• Run the air conditioner on fan mode to remove
any internal moisture.
