Troubleshooting 

F0051 - Powertrain safety system requested shutdown 

F0052 - Powertrain safety system requested shutdown 

Error Description 

Possible Causes 

Possible Solutions 

Supervisory controller has 

requested the vehicle to shut down 

due to a potentially hazardous 

situation. 

1)  Mitigation of potentially 

hazardous situation by 

Supervisory controller. 

 

1)  Contact Dana. 

 

The Supervisory controller will take this action as a 

last line of defense if a shutdown is not requested by 

another device (BMS, Traction inverter, or VCU). 

 

Given that this is an exceptional situation potentially 

involving failure of other safety systems, all 

instances of errors F0051 or F0052 should be 

referred to Dana for specialized troubleshooting.
