Troubleshooting
F0024 - Regenerative Braking reduced
Error Description Possible Causes Possible Solutions
Regenerative braking power has
been limited.
1) High state of charge (SOC).
2) ESS fault.
1) No action needed if fault code
occurs alone.
2) Troubleshoot specific error.
The BMS requests a limitation of the regenerative
braking power in response to certain faults. F0024 is
triggered if the BMS requests a limitation of the
regenerative braking power to 25% or requests
regenerative braking to be disabled entirely.
This error is expected to be accompanied by error
F0026 which provides a BMS fault reason code
indicating the specific reason the limitation was
requested. The BMS will request regenerative
braking power to be limited to 25% in response to
fault reason 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66, 68, or 70,
and will request regenerative braking to be disabled
in response to fault reason 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 15, 16,
26, 27, 28, 29, 37, 41, 42, 44, 45, 47, 48, 103, or
104.
Regenerative braking may be disabled or reduced if
the ESS state of charge (SOC) is close to 100% to
avoid overcharging the ESS.
If error F0024 appears without one of the listed
F0026 BMS fault reasons and the ESS SOC is not
close to 100%, the technician should contact Dana
for further investigation.
