F0017 - High Voltage system fault, Service vehicle soon
Error Description Possible Causes Possible Solutions
VCU has detected that precharge
failed.
1) No contact with DCDC.
2) CAN communication problem.
3) Blown HV fuse F8.
1) Troubleshoot specific error.
2) Resolve CAN communication
problem.
3) Replace HV fuse F8.
This error indicates that the VCU has detected that
the HV distribution system has not reached the
required voltage to pass the precharge stage and
therefore the vehicle is unable to start.
The precharge circuit manages the voltage ramp-up
of the HV system upon startup of the vehicle.
Precharge ends when the voltage of the HV
distribution system reaches 95% of the ESS voltage.
The vehicle is then enabled to start. If the HV
distribution system fails to reach the required
threshold within 5 seconds, the VCU will flag
precharge as failed and the vehicle startup will be
aborted.
The high voltage value used by the VCU to make
this determination is measured and reported by the
DCDC. The vehicle will not be able to pass
precharge if the VCU loses contact with the DCDC.
If error F0017 occurs more than 3 times, the VCU
will also raise error F0018.
