Troubleshooting
F0153 - Battery Balance Error. Please charge battery to 100%
Error Description Possible Causes Possible Solutions
VCU has detected a voltage
imbalance between the ESS
battery packs
1) ESS fault.
2) Temporary SOC imbalance.
1) Troubleshoot specific error.
2) Recharge ESS to 100% SOC.
This error may be accompanied by error F0026
(BMS fault reason 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6).
Note: If requested during this procedure to
connect the vehicle to a charger, a level 2
charger is required.
Note:
For best ESS performance and
vehicle range HV batteries must regularly be
changed to 100% SOC. Vehicle SOC is a
calculated valued that drifts over time. It is
recalibrated only at the end of the charge
cycle when HV batteries are charged to
100%. Always fully change the vehicle until
the charge cycle automatically ends. Only
charge vehicle using a level 2 or level 3
EVSE.
Note: Make sure HV systems are not in use
while charging.
