Troubleshooting 

F0046 - Energy Storage heating System Fault 

Error Description 

Possible Causes 

Possible Solutions 

BMS has requested the ESS 

heating circuit to shut off due to an 

ESS fault. 

1)  ESS fault. 

 

1)  Troubleshoot specific error. 

 

This error is expected to be accompanied by error 

F0026 which provides a BMS fault reason code 

indicating the specific reason the limitation was 

requested. The BMS will request the ESS heating 

circuit to shut off in response to fault reason 36, 49, 

or 50. 

If error F0046 appears without one of the listed 

F0026 BMS fault reasons, the technician should 

contact Dana for further investigation.
