15 Tips for use of the microwave oven
QUESTION/ISSUE TIP
You can’t find setting
recommendations for the quantity of
food to be prepared.
Prolong or shorten the cooking times
according to the following rule of
thumb:
Double the quantity: double the time
Half the quantity: half the time
The food has become too dry.
Set a shorter preparation time or
select a lower power level. Cover the
food and add a little more fluid.
The food is not yet defrosted, hot or
cooked at the end of the set time.
Increase preparation time. Larger
quantities of food require a longer
time.
At the end of the preparation time, the
food is overheated at the edge, but
not yet finished in the middle.
Stir once or twice during heating and
next time set a lower power level and
longer preparation time.
After defrosting, the poultry or meat is
cooked slightly on the outside but not
yet defrosted in the middle.
Select a lower power level the next
time. If large quantities of food are to
be defrosted, turn several times.
Condensation may form on the door window, walls and base. This is
normal and does not affect the function of the microwave. Wipe away
the condensation after cooking.
