Section 7:
VIP 4510
Converter
The processor has a built-in component that can send the processor output to a confidence monitor.
This component, known as the VIP 4150 converter, supports the following standards: composite,
S-Video, component, VGA and DVI standards.
7.1 Basic Setup
To set up the VIP 4510
converter, three basic commands need to change. Those commands
are viewable area (VXVA), window area (VXWA), and video format (VXVF). To check these
numbers, type “VXGC” into the V7 VLink Debugger or into Tera Term
®
.
The viewable area should be set to the sign size of the LED display. The window area should be
set to the resolution of the monitor. The video format needs to be set to the correct format for the
VIP 4510
converter to output on the monitor. See the chart below in
Section 9.8
for the
different formats.
Note:
In a system with two VIP
4500s, each VIP 4510 needs to be configured so that the
viewable area is the same as the window area (WA) of the associated VIP. To do this, use the
controller interface software to check the window area fields.
