Taking out of operation

6.1

Temporary shutdown

CAUTION

A heating system that is shut down can freeze in the event
of frost and may suffer damage.

▪ If there is a danger of frost, start the entire ROTEX heat-

ing system up again and activate the frost protection
function or take the appropriate frost protection meas-
ures for the hot water storage tank (e.g. by draining).

INFORMATION

If there is a risk of frost for a few days only, the very good
heat insulation of the hot water tank means that it need not
be drained as long as the storage tank temperature is reg-
ularly observed and does not fall below +3 °C. This does
not, however, provide any protection against frost for the
connected heat distribution system.

If the storage tank temperature does fall below +3 °C, the
STB of the electric immersion heater automatically triggers.
This prevents consequential damage to the electric immer-
sion heater caused by frost when starting up again.

6.2

Draining the storage tank

DANGER: RISK OF BURNING

Danger of scalding caused by hot water escaping from the
storage tank.

▪ Allow the hot water storage tank to cool down sufficiently

before any installation work.

▪ Wear protective gloves.

1

Close the cold water pipe valve.

2

Open all water outlets.

3

Connect the drain hose to the combined filling and draining valve
of the storage tank.

4

Open the combined filling and draining valve.

Draining the storage tank

6.2.1

Draining the heating circuit

▪ Turn off the main switch of the heat generator and secure it

against being switched on again.

▪ Connect the drain hose to the combined filling and draining valve

of the heat generator and open.

▪ Let the heating circuit run empty.

6.3

Final shutdown

▪ Disconnect the hot water tank from all electrical and water con-

nections.

▪ Dismantle the hot water tank in accordance with the assembly in-

structions (

Chap. 4

) in reverse order.

▪ Dispose of the hot water storage tank properly.

Recommendations for disposal

Thanks to the environmentally friendly design of the hot

water storage tank, we have established requirements to ensure
environmentally friendly disposal. Proper disposal in compliance
with the respective national regulations of the country of use is the
responsibility of the user/owner.

The designation of the product means that electrical and

electronic products may not be disposed of together with unsorted
domestic waste.

Proper disposal in compliance with the respective national regula-
tions of the country of use is the responsibility of the user/owner.

▪ Only a qualified technician may disassemble the system.

▪ Disposal may only be carried out by an organisation that special-

ises in reuse, recycling and recovery.

Further information is available from the installation company or the
responsible local authorities.
