About This Guide
This installation guide provides basic
instructions for installing the DWL-8630AP
on your network. For additional information
about how to use the access point, please
see the User Manual, which is available on
the D-Link support website.

This DWL-8630AP should include the
following items:

- Mounting ring
- Console cable (optional)*

Ceiling bracket (3 sets: 9/16", 14/16", and
1 1/2")
If any item is missing or damaged, please
contact your local D-Link reseller.
Note: The power adapter is optional and
is not included. To power the unit, use a
D-Link PoE switch or the D-Link DPE-311GI
PoE Injector.
*If this item is not included, it can be
purchased separately. Please contact your
local D-Link reseller.

Hardware Overview
LED Indicators

POWER
When this LED is red,
the access point is
booting up. When it is
green, it is ready for
use.
LAN1/LAN2
When this LED is lit,
the device’s Ethernet
port is connected to an
active router or switch.
The light will flash
when data is being
transmitted through the
port.
2.4GHz/5GHz
When this LED is lit,
the access point’s
wireless radio is
enabled. It will flash
when data is being
transmitted via
wireless.
