The DWL-120 is a high-performance Wireless USB Netwo r k
A d a p t e r. It Delivers 11Mbps (Megabits per second), making the
DWL-120 the fastest Wireless Network Adapter on the marke t
t o d a y. The USB interface makes the DWL-120 easy to install and
use. The DWL-120 wireless adapter allows you to share hard disk
d r ives, DV D / C D - ROM drives, Zip drives, printers and prov i d e s
shared access to an analog, Cable, or DSL modem for Internet
access.
Based on the IEEE 802.11b standards insures interoperability in
m u l t i - vendor environments. Designed for desktop PCs and
Laptops with USB support. Connects to other computers up to 100
meters away indoors and 300 meters away outdoors!
The network adapter is fully mobile and seamlessly roams from
access point to access point. The D-Link DWL-120 will connect
point to point (Ad Hoc) or it can use an access point (Infrastructure
Mode) to extend the reach of its communications capability.
In addition the DWL-120 uses a 40-bit WEP (Wired Equiva l e n t
P r iva cy) Encryption for a secure network connection.
The DWL-120 includes an internal non-detachable diversity patch
antenna and one built-in green LED indicator for pow e r, netwo r k
link and activ i t y.
The wireless adapter will operate in 2.4 GHz Direct Sequence
Spread Spectrum (DSSS) for wireless networks in the home or
o ffice environment. The DWL-120 is compatible with Wi n d ow s
98, ME, 2000 and other popular operating systems.
