3.13 Removing the Appliance Cover
The appliance cover must be removed to access the main board when you need to install or remove
memory, the power supply, fan wall, and so on.
To remove the BT1 cover:
1.
Remove the server from the rack system. See
Removing an Appliance from a Rack
2.
Loosen the cover locking screw, counter-clockwise.
If the screw is too tight to loosen by hand, use a #2 Phillips screwdriver.

Slide the cover toward the rear about 3/4 inch to release the locking pins. You can use the
palm of your hand to apply gentle downward pressure to slide the cover.

There are four slide-lock guides on the cover, two each on the right and left sides. The
lock pins must be seated in the rear position before the cover can lift away.
