NOTE.
Do not modify the -c /bin/handle_dhcp option.
CLI Method - DHCP
Step 1 - Open the CLI interface by issuing the command:
# CLI
Step 2 - Activate/Deactivate DHCP in the unit.
cli> config network hostsettings dhcp <option>
Where possible values for
<option>
are:
yes
to activate DHCP or
no
to deactivate
it.
Step 3 - Activate the configuration.
cli> config runconfig
Command/File
Description
/bin/handle_dhcp
The script which is run by the DHCP client each time an IP
address negotiation takes place.
/etc/network/dhcpcd_cmd
Contains a command that activates the DHCP client (used by
the cy_ras program). Its factory contents are:
/bin/dhcpcd -c /bin/handle_dhcp
The options available that can be used on this command line are:
•
-D
- This option forces dhcpcd to set the domain name of
the host to the domain name parameter sent by the DHCP
Server. The default option is to NOT set the domain name
of the host to the domain name parameter sent by the
DHCP Server.
•
-H
- This option forces dhcpcd to set the host name of the
host to the hostname parameter sent by the DHCP Server.
The default option is to NOT set the host name of the host
to the hostname parameter sent by the DHCP Server.
•
-R
- This option prevents dhcpcd from replacing the
existing
/etc/resolv.conf
file.
