4.10 DMA Operation
The S SC150e card hardware provides two bi-directional DMA channels for
transferring blocks up to 4 MB in length. Refer to
V363EPC User Manual
for details of
the DMA operation. See section 1.2 in this manual for information on how to access the

4.11 Maintenance
No routine maintenance is required for the S SC150e general-purpose nodes
beyond that which is required for host computer systems. S SC150e network
fiber-optic cabling connectors should be inspected periodically.
4.12 Troubleshooting
Problem: Solution:
No power-up indication on
a PC platform
If there is an incorrect address, the system will not
boot up.
On UNIX-like systems, the driver generates a message on boot-up similar to the
following:
S installed and on-line
Problem: Solution:
The boot-up message does
not appear
The Register base address, memory base address
and/or memory size may be incorrect.
NOTE
: All S SC150e nodes in the fiber-optic network ring must be
powered on unless they have Fiber Optic Bypass Switches or Quad Switches installed.
Problem: Solution:
The hardware installation
fails
•
The S SC150e host card is not
installed into a standard slot. (This check should
have been performed before installing the
S SC150e host card into any slots).
•
The READ/WRITE jumpers J303/J304 are not in
the factory-default position.
The system does not boot
correctly
Reset the card and double-check cable connections. If
problems persist, call Curtiss-Wright Controls
Customer Support at (937) 252-5601 for assistance.
