PoE Type1 and PoE+ Type2 Functionality and Power

port, up to 30.0W
per port, not to
exceed 130W total PoE power at 65°C. See Figure 4.16 below. This
supports power and
data to PoE type 1/2 devices (phone, camera, AP, etc.) over twisted pair
. It is
configurable by IOS
software to manage the ports and watts supported for PoE
.
PoE+ can provide 30.0 watts at the device at
a voltage between 42.5 and 57 volts. Two operating modes are defined in PoE+: Positive power is
supplied to Ethernet pair (1,2) for Mode A and to pair (4,5) for Mode B. Negative power is supplied to
(3,6) for Mode A and to pair (7,8) for Mode B. For longer cable (100-m) CAT6 is recommended due to
higher current carrying capacity.

To change the PoE+ power of the DUT, we first need to know the IP address, Username and Password.
The IP address can be found from the minicom terminal window as shown below in figure 4.17.
