
Chapter 7: House/barn and room management
Entering house/barn or room information
All areas that can be used for livestock (referred to here as production) with equipment controlled by
EDGE is considered a house/barn. To configure a house/barn or room, you must first enter basic
information.
1. Enter the house/barn or room name of your choice. This field must contain at least one character.
2. Set the following parameters:
House/barn or room type —
Choose the type of house/barn or room to create (production or
service)
Production type —
Choose between the various production or service types available according to
your house/barn type
Area length —
Enter the length of the area
Area width —
Enter the width of the area
Area height —
Enter the height of the area
Use pre-heat mode —
Select on or off. Pre-heat is a control mode when no animals are present.
The house/barn is pre-heated before the animals arrive
Use clean mode —
Select on or off. Clean mode is a control mode when no animals are present.
Clean mode is used to wash down the area once animals have been shipped
Floor space —
The total floor space of the area is displayed
Area volume —
The total volume of the area is displayed
After You Finish
You can now start adding equipment to the house/barn or room. A list of equipment available for the area
and type is displayed on the left hand side of the screen. Press on the equipment and begin configuration.
Deleting a house/barn or room
When you delete a house/barn or room, both the house/barn or room and all the equipment configured in
it is deleted.
1. Navigate to the house/barn or room you want to delete.
2. Press on the delete icon

If you are deleting an empty area, a message prompting you to confirm you want to delete the
house/barn or room is displayed.
3. Press on
Yes
to delete the house/barn or room.
Restriction
An area can’t be deleted if it is in production mode. You must first stop production.
