Chapter 28: Maintenance

Replacing a fuse

Before You Begin

Only service personnel is authorized to replace a fuse.

WARNING

Wear appropriate grounding devices such as an anti-static wristband to service the
system.

1. Disconnect the main voltage supply and ensure the box is completely powered down.

2. Locate the broken fuse and replace it with a fuse of the same tolerance.

3. Reconnect the main voltage supply, and ensure all equipment powers up.

Replacing the coin battery

At some point, the coin battery will need to be changed. Correctly changing the coin battery ensures the
system continues to function correctly.

What You Should Know

WARNING

Installation must only be performed by qualified service personnel.

CAUTION

Before servicing the system, disconnect the main voltage supply.

WARNING

Wear appropriate grounding devices such as an anti-static wristband to service the
system.

1. Disconnect the main voltage supply and ensure the box is completely powered down.

2. Locate the coin battery at BAT1 on PCB-416 (blue board).

3. Remove the coin battery from PCB-416.

4. Install a new coin battery on PCB-416.

5. Reconnect the main voltage supply, and ensure all equipment powers up.

6. Adjust the date and time on your EDGE Main Controller.

Replacing the internal fan

Once a year, verify that the fan is functioning properly. A fan can last up to 30 000-50 000 hours (3-5
years). Correctly replacing the internal fan ensures the system functions correctly.
