Troubleshooting
Problem Solution
Verify if the EDGE Weather
Station does not
communicate Verify if the controller is powered up
Verify if there are activities on the bus communication by looking at the activities
of the LEDs: AUTOMATION-RX, AUTOMATION-TX, SAFETY-RX, SAFETY-TX.
Verify if the network link is installed correctly: Terminal A from EDGE Weather
Station to the Controller terminal A, Terminal B from EDGE Weather Station to
the Controller terminal B
Verify if the network communication is installed in daisy chain.
Verify if your end of line (EOL) are set correctly on your network
Verify if the GND communication is connected
Verify if the network link has been severed or the protections have been
activated.
Verify if there is not a short-circuit on the network link between terminal A and B
Verify if the network link length is below 4000 feet (1200m) with the recom-
mended gage.
If the problem persists, contact your AP/Cumberland or GSI Electronics
The EDGE Weather Station
does not power up Verify if the LED "3.3V" or "5V" or “15V” is activated on PCB-453
Verify if the power link is installed correctly: 24V to 24V and GND to GND from
the Automation or safety network
Verify if the network link has been severed or the protections have been
activated.
If the problem persists, contact your AP/Cumberland or GSI Electronics
Issues with inputs sensors Verify if the sensor wiring is conformed to the wiring diagrams.
Verify if the sensor is connected at the right terminal.
Verify if the network link has been severed or the protections have been
activated.
Verify if the sensor configuration is set correctly on the Main Controller.
If the problem persists, contact your AP/Cumberland or GSI Electronics
Issues with the 15 VDC
outputs The 15 VDC output is not able to supply the devices. Ensure that the 15 VDC
output does not draw more than 330mA.
Verify if the sensor wiring is conformed to the wiring diagram.
Verify if the network link has been severed or the protections have been
activated.
If the problem persists, contact your AP/Cumberland or GSI Electronics
No data output and the EDGE
Weather Station communi-
cates with EDGE devices Check the connections to the NMEA 2000® connector and tighten if necessary
Ensure that power is supplied to the connected 2000® cable
If the problem persists, contact your AP/Cumberland or GSI Electronics.
