3. USE OF THE APPLIANCE
• Place the oven on a level surface.
• Put the rack and the removable crumb tray in the oven before plugging
the appliance in.
• To stop the oven before the end of a cycle, push the O/I button.
• The rack should be in the oven for all cooking methods.
• When used, the drip pan should always be on the rack, never under.
1. Natural convection
• Push the button. The red indicator light next to the button will go
on.
• The default temperature of the oven is 60°C. Push the button to
adjust the temperature. You can increase or decrease the temperature
from 60°C to 270°C by 15°C increments. The temperature is displayed
on the digital display.
• Push the O/I button to preheat the oven. When the temperature
selected is reached, the oven will beep 5 times and 'Temp Ready' will
be displayed.
• Next, programme the timer using the button (see touchpad
functions guide, p.10) to set the desired cooking time.
• To stop the oven during cooking, push the O/I button.
2. Pulsed air
The Cuisinart® multifunction oven has a pulsed air function that circulates
the heated air for faster cooking times. Thanks to this option, food does
not dry out and cooking is perfectly even. Ideal for roasting meat or
poultry and for cooking small cakes or biscuits. Generally, because
cooking time is shorter, the temperature will be a little lower than for
classic cooking by natural convection.
• Follow the same procedure as for cooking with natural convection.
• The cooking method can also be used with the button to
programme the cooking time.
• To stop the oven during the cycle, push the O/I button.
3. Broiler
This cooking method is ideal for quickly and efficiently broiling red or
white meat, poultry, fish, seafood and so on. Equally perfect for
browning pastas, lasagnes and gratin Dauphinois for mouth-watering
appeal.
To broil, it is best to place the rack on the highest cooking level in the oven.
• To broil, push the button. The red light next to the button will go
on and 'Brl' will be displayed.
• The oven temperature is programmed at 270°C and cannot be
adjusted.
• Push the O/I button to preheat the oven. Let it preheat for about 5
minutes with the oven door closed. Place the food on the roasting pan
or the drip pan and then place the roasting pan or the drip pan and
food in the oven, leaving the door partly open.
CAUTION! ALWAYS LEAVE THE OVEN DOOR PARTLY OPEN WHEN
BROILING.
• You can also use the timer with this cooking method (see 4.
Timer/Setting cooking time).
• To stop the oven during cooking, push the O/I button.
4. Timer/Setting the cooking time
• Programme the oven to cook according to one of the cooking methods
described above (1., 2. and 3.). (The O/I button should already have
been pushed and the oven should already have started to heat up to
reach the right temperature).
• Once the oven has reached the desired temperature, place the food in
the oven and close the door (for method, leave the door partly
open).
• Push the button. Push and hold the button and push the
button to select the desired time. The maximum cooking time is
4 hours.
• Once the display stop flashing, the timer is set and begins counting
down.
• At the end of the cycle, 0:00 will be displayed and the timer will beep
continuously until the oven is turned off by pushing O/I.
CAUTION! FOR SAFETY REASONS, THE OVEN WILL AUTOMATICALLY
TURN OFF AFTER 4 HOURS OF CONTINUOUS USE.
5. Toasting
To toast, we recommend placing the rack on the highest level in the oven.
Nevertheless, do not turn the rack over so that the slices of bread are too
close to the element.
• Put the slices of bread in the oven, ensuring that they are centred. If
toasting several slices at once, ensure that they don't overlap to ensure
even toasting.
• Push the button. The red indicator light next to the button will come
on.
